No one’s dying anytime soon

Footsteps, misteps, falling

debris.

I seek shelter from gospel

choirs.

The politics of truth

gang up on me,

they’re not my truths

not my policies.

Bullets stray, voices are raised

guilty parties whose names

are named.

You speak of mortality, joy and I listen.

Yet, I’m afraid.

  1. Very powerful message! I like it. It sounds like a struggle or perhaps a political siege. =)

  2. Thanks! I wrote it while I was a spiritual retreat, being preached like there was no tomorrow. Also, it deals with my fears of death and losing love.

  3. Thank you! 😀
